I changed the layout to basic flexible squares. It's clean looking, and I like it.

I hope everyone's having a great summer so far. I hope work's not too bad, and that fun is even more fun than usual.

I find that music helps to heal the soul, especially the broken soul that's been working a pointless nine to five (there are several songs that talk of such things, but that's for another day).

I had to use a bunch of different upload sites for this post. Let me know which you liked, and which you didn't.

I'm gonna rate these songs from 1 to 3 ♥s. But don't be fooled: a low heart rating doesn't mean a bad song. They made it on here, which means I'm in love.

Spin the Bottle by Julianna Hatfield ♥♥ When I was little, I used to listen to this song on low volume in my room, because I though it was soooo bad since it had the word 'fuck' in it. :P I was a dork. This song is catchy and upbeat.

Butterfly by Mason Jennings ♥♥ This song is great if you like casual vocals and subtle lyrics. It's cheerful.

Never Going Back Again (acoustic) by Matchbox Twenty ♥♥ the only reason that this song only gets two hearts is because it's a little too minor sounding for me; I dig the lightness of the Fleetwood Mac version. However, it's still amazing. MB20 covering Fleetwood Mac? I'm there.

Courage by the Tragically Hip ♥♥ brilliant song writing, guitar drive, like most Hip.

Grace by Kate Havenik ♥ slow, sensual, beautiful and sad. Played during the finale of Grey's Anatomy. DENNY :*(

Better Man by the John Butler Trio ♥ The JB Trio are excellent musicians. The guitar picking here is fabulous, and the vocals perfectly compliment it.

Gabriel and the Vagabond by Foy Vance ♥♥♥ beautiful, simple, and touching as only Foy Vance can deliver. It makes me weep everytime, because he's got the perfect combination of melancholoy guitar playing that sounds hopeful all at once. (Also, did anyone ever notice his constant reuse of the 'why why why' line, in this and in Indiscriminate Act of Kindness?)

Big Love by Fleetwood Mac ♥♥ The live version of this is better, but I don't have it on my computer, so we'll all have to settle for the original.

Backdoor Man by the Doors ♥♥ Because Jim Morrison screeching and singing like someone's sucking him off is gorgeous. (If not vulgar... but I once heard a story that said that a current girlfriend of his actually did give him a blowjob while he was recording.)

The Grace by the Neverending White Lights featuring Dallas Green ♥ this song rocks because it's slow and subtle, but there's this driving guitar in the background. I kinda dig Dallas Green, too, I guess. His voice is kinda unimpressive, though. The song is great anyway.

Snow (hey oh) by the Red Hot Chilli Peppers ♥ a slow, melodic song from Stadium Arcadium's Jupiter. It's catchy. :P

Wow, I Can Get Sexual Too by Say Anything ♥♥ I really dig the beat here. The words are immature at times, but kinda amusing, and the melody is refreshingly simple.

Kyle Took a Bullet For Me by Tenacious D ♥♥ the talent that Jack Black has for rock and roll drives me insane. He's amazing at it. And this song is an example. Their screeches. Their... EVERYTHING. Hee. It's like, with Tenacious D, Jack Black and Kyle are like, ahaha fuck you, bands that work really hard to be awesome, we can do it in two seconds. Check out the two parts in the end. It's just a short little acoustic ditty.

Rock and Roll Song by Valdy ♥ exactly what it says. A good old-timey rock song.

Steady As She Goes by the Raconteurs ♥♥ this song is fabulous. It irks me that I can't dislike Jack White, because I have been trying ever since I read an interview that had him cockily declaring that he was better than Stevie Ray Vaughn. But take this song along with his performance in Cold Mountain, and I'm not really feeling the hate at all.

Devil in a Midnight Mass by Billy Talent ♥♥ I hate myself for liking the new Billy Talent song. And I keep it to myself, but I can't stop thinking that they write really, really good songs. I mean, maybe they're not your thing. But the melodic complicities that you can find in everything they write... Red Flag, River Below... not to mention the harmonies, which I think is what get me. In any event. Yeah. Billy Talent. If you dig screamo/punk/poprock.

Heeeee, backdoor man. And yeah, Pam was blowing him during a recording, but not that song...it was way later in the Doors' career, when Jim was too drunk to sing on time, and yeah. Interesting way to keep him alert, but it worked. I think the song in question was the Soft Parade, but if not, it's definitely a song on that album. =D

I heart rock history.

Also, I downloaded a few of those, yaaaaaaay for music!
